W Polsce kult św .Huberta, patrona myśliwych, rozwinął się stosunkowo późno, bo dopiero w początkach XVIII wieku, za panowania królów z dynastii saskiej. Każdy prawy myśliwy uważał za swój obowiązek uczestniczyć w hubertowinach, czyli uroczystościach związanych ze świętem swojego patrona, od których zwalniała tylko obłożna choroba, podróż lub ważne i nie cierpiące zwłoki zajęcie. Wierni tej tradycji myśliwi z koła łowieckiego „SZARAK „ w Popówku zebrali się w swej stanicy w Niemieczkowie by po krótkiej modlitwie przyjąć ślubowanie od nowego kolegi Łukasza Ignasiaka, syna myśliwego i ruszyć na łowy.
Piękna jesienna pogoda stopniowo zmieniała się w deszczową a zwierzyna nie miała ochoty spotkać się z myśliwymi. Hubert nie dążył, a myśliwi nie nadążali za uchodzącą zwierzyną. Królami pudlarzy zostali Roman Horłoza i Jarek Szaban. Spotkanie zakończyła tradycyjna grochówka w rodzinnym gronie.
